What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Contact forms
When visitors submit the contact form, the following data is collected: email address and optional information including name and telephone number. We also collect your IP address and browser user agent string for spam detection purposes.
Contact form submissions are retained for up to three months for customer service purposes and are not used for marketing. This site uses Akismet (by Automattic) for spam checking. Submissions are emailed directly to Orangefilms and include the submitter’s IP address, timestamp, name, email and message.
Cookies
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Analytics
This site uses Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymised data about visitor behaviour. Google Tag Manager manages all tracking scripts; Google Analytics 4 is the analytics platform that processes visitor data. No legacy Universal Analytics, AdWords conversion tracking, or DoubleClick services are used.
Analytics cookies are only placed with your consent, via the cookie preferences panel. Data is processed in the United States under Google’s standard data processing terms. You can withdraw consent at any time by revisiting the cookie preferences panel.
How long we retain your data
- Contact form entries: up to six months
- Analytics records: one year
- Customer service data: normally retained indefinitely for service continuity

What rights you have over your data
If you have submitted a contact form or have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
How we protect your data
Customer data is stored on encrypted and password-protected computers and backup disks. Where we use third-party cloud services (including Apple iCloud, Dropbox, and Google Drive), accounts are secured via two-step verification.
Data breach procedures
In the event of a data breach, Orangefilms will inform any customers whose retained data may have been affected.
